how would you rate your doctor?
there are several websites that allow consumers to rate a doctor.
- Rate MDs
- Dr Score
- Vitals
- Physician Reports
ive even seen reviews of doctors on Yelp and Digg.
Zagat has been doing ratings for food, etc for a while now but the latest news it that Blue Cross Blue Shield will be teaming up with them to provide Physician Reviews to their members. The intent is to improve service. I can see that. But I bet it’ll be a slow incentive for physicians to change their ways because not all members will be getting online to read the reviews…yet.
But take a look at Hello Health. It incorporates physician rankings into its Physician Pay Model. The better your patient ranks you, the more money you make as a physician. It’s a direct way to make a doctor improve their service, because after all, it is their paycheck. Read the Hello Health Business Model here.
An interesting point raised in the Blue Cross Blue Shield article is that competitors could submit negative reviews. That would suck. Im sure they’ll figure out how to prevent that. Maybe member-only rankings or something.
