project Flying Hamster is my backburner project.  it’s my codename for a company called Cramming CS.  it was launched in 2008 to help medical students pass the USMLE Step 2 CS and shut down at the end of 2009 because i was soooooooo busy as a resident.  now that i’m an attending with a little bit more time on my hands (i say little because now i’m back in grad school again),...

i love my job. i see about twenty patients a day. this may go up after I get settled as a new attending physician and after the EMR transition takes place. but right now, this very moment, I’m really happy with the ways things have turned out. back to dictating. cheers!

This is why I use UpToDate when practicing...
A study published in the Journal of Hospital Medicine finds that hospitals using the clinical reference system, UpToDate, experienced shortened hospital stays, fewer deaths, and better quality performance than those not using UpToDate. Over a three-year period, the 1,017 hospitals using UpToDate experienced 372,500 fewer hospital days per year and 11,500 fewer deaths than comparable hospitals.

freshsky01-deactivated20111212 asked: Hello sir. I'm a foreign medical grad. I took the USMLE step 1 twice and have failed thus far. It's been hard. At first I self-reviewed and that didn't work out for me. The second time around, I took the doctorsintraining online review and that didn't work out for me either. My fellow foreign grad friend who is in the same situation heard that our resumes in hospitals, if...

brokenslate asked: Hi Dr. Thuc Huynh! I am extremely interested in what issues you have encountered with electronic medical records. I'm curious about their privacy and security, as well as interoperability with other softwares. Could you tell me a bit about your experiences with them?

The show Animal Planet is here at the office to videotape my physician partner, Dr. Trout. She diagnosed dengue fever in a patient! Rare in the US but common in africa. Way to avoid a Dengue outreak in Rochester, NY! Last outbreak was 2009 in florida and 2005 in texas. Pretty badass.
